Arabesque orbweaver vs. Eastern tailed-blue

Neoscona arabesca / Cupido comyntas

Description:

I was focusing on the spider when it snatched the butterfly right in front of me! I watched as it wrapped its prey - the whole process from capture to packed lunch took less than 2 minutes!

Habitat:

Semi rural

Notes:

The first photo in this series is actually the last I took, but I've chosen this one because it shows the way that the spider produces the silk to wrap its prey.

Thanks guys! In hindsight I wish I had shot a video as I've ended up with about 40 photos of the entire process!
