Description:

Distinctive and well-marked shrike. Male has chestnut crown and nape with upperparts otherwise black except for white markings on wings and shoulder and white rump; underparts white.

Habitat:

Favours open country and farmland scattered with scrub. Often perches on wire fences.

Notes:

This is a male, first shrike I've seen.
