Azure Damselfly

Description:

About 3 to 4 cm in length, some 5 in wingspan. The male is easily recognized by its striking azure blue and black markings on abdomen.

Habitat:

Widespread and one of the commonest damselflies in Europe. Here, seen around the small pond (Photo N° 2), situated in a local park, big wooded area with a meadow and a pond. The park itself is at the outskirts of the small town, in a rather rural area in lowlands around Geneva lake (lac Leman), just between Alps and Jura mountain ranges
