A white-colored Pterophoridae moth from the genus Pterophorus. Possibly Pterophorus leucadactylus. It's white colors perfectly camouflage it against the wall. This skinny moth looks like a skeleton. Wings folded up (typical of plume moths) and last pair of legs raised up parallel to it's abdomen. Legs have long spikes. Body length about 1cm.
Highland forests of Kundasang, Sabah, Malaysia.
I found this moth on the wall during breakfast in Aristo inn. This is my first and best Plume moth photograph. Some facts about Plume Moths : Despite their tiny size, they are categorized under the larger moths (Apoditrysia). Plume moths are much common in the highlands here like Kundasang than the lowlands back in my hometown. >>>Map accuracy : 10m radius.
Thank you Wilson W for suggesting an ID but dhobern has already suggested a Pterophoridae genus which is much more specific.
In the genus Pterophorus, quite possibly Pterophorus leucadactylus, although there are other species in Malaysia. For another example, see http://www.flickr.com/photos/53952143@N0....
