Rana catesbeiana
Plain green or with gray net-like pattern on green ground color. Ventral surfaces white and mottled with gray or yellow. Long hind legs may be blotched or banded. This one is fully grown, Rana catesbeiana reach between 7-15 cm (3.5-6 in) as adults. This is the smaller of the two that live in my pond.
It is sitting in one of the stream beds that filter the ponds in my wildlife habitat garden. Bullforgs hide in the dense vegetation during the day. Only occasionally do I see them during the day.
This was taken with a flash and flashlights. Red eye was corrected on the first photo. In the dark I am only spotting nocturnal amphibians by the reflection of their eyes from the flashlight.
