Green Iguana

Iguana iguana

Description:

While at a Spanish fortress, we spotted a green Iguana on a wall. It was sunning, and had no issue with our coming in close. Iguanas have flourished in Puerto Rico, and for the last few years they have become a menu item according to some internet sources.

Habitat:

This was spotted on the coast in a fortress in San Juan.

They don't call it "Pollo de Árbol" (Tree Chicken) for nothing. People do eat them.
