Cracker

Description:

It had a fat stem and a smooth soft cap. It's cap was a kind of beige colour and its stem was white. It had no odor that I could smell.

Around damp tree trunks

I spotted it under a small gum tree in the middle of the bush

That's a cracker Jack. Any chance you can see it again in a day or two? It will probably open it's cap.
