White seabream

Diplodus sargo

Description:

Some 15 cm in length, silvery grey fish with more or less noticeable vertical darker stripes. Black spot at the base of tail.

Habitat:

Widespread in East Atlantic and Mediterranean sea, Sargo is a very common fish in Adriatic, close to shores. This summer (as each and every summer) we observed it on every beach in the area, between rocks and on rocky bottoms in shallow waters close to shores - here on our favorite rocky beach a little bellow of a protected mediterranean coniferous forest in a village on Dubrovnik riviera.
