Bronchocela jubata
Synonym: Calotes jubatus
Your choice of common name is perfectly fine Jason, but please be aware that perhaps confusingly many sources use "green crested lizard" for both Bronchocela jubata and B. cristatella (including IUCN http://www.iucnredlist.org/details/17037... and the one in my species suggestion). This illustrates why common names are of secondary importance. Many species share common names or have multiple common names. Scientific names are what define a species, and are at the heart of a species suggestion. Even these change due to taxonomic evolution. Calotes jubatus is now regarded by the major sources as a synonym of the preferred Bronchocela jubata (EOL, IUCN, The Reptile Database and others, See http://eol.org/pages/964195/names/synony... ). Please note that this species can be variable in color. If you consider that all three photos are of the same species then it can be one spotting if taken at same place and the same time. (But I still wonder about the species in the 2nd photo :-). Cheers
Thanks for the ID, S Frazier.. But Bronchocela jubata or Calotes jubatus is Maned Forest Lizard.. Green Crested Lizard is Bronchocela cristatella.. and Green Crested Lizard has blackish color on its ear and the part around its eyes..
My suggestion if for the animal in photo 1 and maybe photo 3. The lizard in photo 2 may be as you have it now identified (C. versicolor)
Actually 3 different lizard specimens. If they were taken on different days you should probably make 3 separate spottings. A spotting is an observation session: an organism (1 species) at a certain time and a particular place. The first and second photos look like different species to me. The third maybe a young specimen of the 1st species.
