Beetle

Calophaena laevigata

Description:

This beetle measures just over an inch long. It had an irridescent blue color which was present. This was found on heliconia. Thanks to Bayucca I learned a little bit more about this creature and it seems that they are typical predators in rolled heliconia leaves.

Habitat:

Tropical humid forest in SW Costa Rica at sea level.
