Este es un juvenil. En Costa Rica lo llamamos Chocuaco. Es un ave grande, puede llegar a los 50 cm y, como es un pescador, lo encontramos cerca de ríos y lagunas generalmente en grupos numerosos. Su nido es pequeño en proporción al tamaño del ave y lo ubica en ramas bajas sobre el agua.

For those who do not read or speak Spanish, I provide the following translation of his description of this beautiful bird........... This is a juvenile. In Costa Rica we call Chocuaco. It is a large bird can reach 50 cm and, as a fisherman, is found near rivers and lakes usually in large groups. Its nest is small in proportion to the size of the bird and places it in low branches over the water.
