Oleander Hawk Moth

Daphnis nerii

Description:

The Oleander Hawk moth emerged early this morning, sometime between 1 am and 7 am, so I missed the eclosion again! But there it was, sitting on my light shade when I woke up this morning.. Sat there all day, and in the evening it still seemed to be having trouble flying, but I put it outside on the tree the caterpillar came from, anyway. p.s. It was gone in the morning...

juliejim, for this one I just used my little point and shoot, a Panasonic Lumix DMC ZS20. It's a really great camera for the price. 20 times zoom, and great macro! It has a Leica lens...
