Geometrid Moth

Hypagyrtis sp.

Description:

Beautifully patterned and colored moth with brown, yellow and black. One of two likely species that can't be reliably distinguished by external appearances. H. unipunctata or H. esther. According to Bugguide, this looks more like an Ester Moth, however I am not certain enough to commit.

Habitat:

Suburban. Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia.
