Description:

Beautiful, bright red centipede that was close to 5cm long.

Habitat:

In leaf litter in a mixed forest.

Notes:

Centipedes are metameric, which means that their body is divided into segments, which are mostly all identical. Metamerization is an important phenomenon that humans share with centipedes. In humans, metamerization is seen in the repeating spinal discs in our backbones.
