Laughing Gull

Description:

Mew gull size with black bill, legs and wing tips. Non breeding plumage which shows just smudges of what would be its black head.

Habitat:

Spotted when came in from feeding with assorted species of gulls to a man made pond at a Cemetery. Only time I saw it on the ground when someone was feeding bread to the birds. It was mainly seen on the fence or taking sips in the pond.

Notes:

Rare sighting in California.
