Spotting

Description:

Fruit fly of about 1cm body length. Grey colouration with the upper side of the abdomen being striped; wings show dark patches on second half; head and thorax have long bristle-like hairs. Picture search keeps bringing up Tephritis bardanae, but this is a European species... looks similar, though.

Habitat:

Found in 'El Cimatario', a national park in semi-arid area just outside the city. The rainy season is now in full swing and many animals are venturing out.
