Lontra canadensis
This river otter was spotted in the marsh area by the new beaver lodge. Just within the last month there have be an unusual amount of spotting's of otters at Huntley Meadows Park. I was told by the Park Naturalist that the river otter is a uncommon visitor to Huntley Meadows.

Congratulations on your 50th spotting, Louisa! Gee, that was quick!
Thanks Leuba, Bob, and Scott! Bob, I have spotted/photographed an otter 4 out of 5 times that I have been to HMP in the last 2 weeks.
Great spotting and photos ! - thanks for sharing..
An otter (or more than one?) has been poking around the beaver pond and the water channels leading to the large lodge over the past week or so. You got some clean shots of it. Nice.
