I'm not likely to try eating anything that an insect finds appetizing but if a bear or even a deer is spotted munching something I might consider the possibility. But I know it's a bad idea to blindly eat things just because some other species eats it.
Many bugs or animals eat mushrooms, that doesn't mean they're edible too humans.A great example is A. phalloides which is frequently found eaten by insects and is deadly to us.
I don't know my mushrooms at all but I love when one is spotted having several bites taken from it. That's a good sign to me that it might be edible in a pinch.
