I'm not likely to try eating anything that an insect finds appetizing but if a bear or even a deer is spotted munching something I might consider the possibility. But I know it's a bad idea to blindly eat things just because some other species eats it.

Many bugs or animals eat mushrooms, that doesn't mean they're edible too humans.
A great example is A. phalloides which is frequently found eaten by insects and is deadly to us.

I don't know my mushrooms at all but I love when one is spotted having several bites taken from it. That's a good sign to me that it might be edible in a pinch.
