Hoplobatrachus tigerinus
A brown frog, size approx: 1.5-2 inches with green lines. A very common species in India, although there are reports of decline in the population in Goa. Reference link attached. Earlier the scientific name was rana tigrina.
Seen at our colony fountain.
My son knew where we could find frogs and took me to see them. Special Thanks to William Joers and Zach Truelock on FB nature group for help in identification. Another spotting of mine, of the same species, from our area: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/120...
Lat: 19.80, Long: 72.75

Thanks Atul!
Lovely!
Thanks, Hemant, Gordon and Luis.
Good find
I agree with Hemant, although I believe that there is a move to rename this species to Hoplobatrachus tigerinus, the Indian Bull Frog, and many biologists are using this newer name. See http://calphotos.berkeley.edu/cgi/img_qu... for more information. Another possibly good source is http://www.frogindia.org/newspecies.htm.
could be rana tigrina
