Chootti

Australian cattle dog

Description:

After an extraordinary storm - she's been up to something at the back of the block but I haven't found what it is yet.

Habitat:

Suburban back yard.

Notes:

Apparently the breeding of these dogs has involved dingo, dalmation, border collie... they love to work but I just can't give her enough to do. Chootti is from a Tamil word meaning 'imp' or similar.... 3.5 years ago we gave our right arms to have her whole mammary chain and more removed to fix tumours. We were told to expect another 12 months at best. !! Ok that's our pet.

That's interesting about the D receptors Emma. You find some amazing info. I'll have to read up on that. I wasn't going to mention the holiday meaning of her name as she is lazy enough already.

very cute! I wonder if dogs experience Vitamin D deficiency?
Out here Marine County has the highest rate of this cancer and latest research links it to Vit D receptors in the genes.
Chootti in Hindi means " Holiday"

I must say she does look guilty. That's why we love them; totally loyal but still larrikins. Surely she still has a year or more.
