Common Kestrel

Falco tinnunculus

Description:

Had been sent to the local bird protection association by mail, from Bucharest. They bought it in for a check-up to see if it can be rescued, since it suffered burns on its wing and one of his legs from hitting a high voltage cable. Since complete recovery seems impossible, it had been given in care to a friend of the doctor I'm studiing under, where they will be building an aviary for him.

What a magnificent bird. Wonderful photos, and thank you for adding the notes. I hope the bird fared well.
