Ochlerotatus sp.

Description:

Either Ochlerotatus triseriatus or Ochlerotatus hendersoni. Overall fairly dark. Dark legs, wings and body with silvery-white scales on scutum and stripes on abdomen.

Habitat:

Suburban yard. Attracted to a blacklight at night.

Thank you for the input! I looked and looked at images and descriptions between the two and couldn't figure it out. I didn't realize she was gravid, either!

Wow, what a beauty, and she's gravid. Oc. triseriatus and hendersoni are so hard to tell apart without microscopy and/or PCR. Nice find!
