Reddish Egret

Egretta rufescens

Description:

White morph. Large, white bird with a pink bill that has a black base. The legs are solid dark gray. Easiest way to ID them besides the bill is to just watch their hunting behavior, they don't act like any other egret/heron.

Habitat:

Hunting right along the beach in a bay.

The lower Texas coast has tons of the white morphs, I usually see more white morphs than I do normal ones. Very cool birds!
