Polinices sp.
Clear jelly-like, would fit in the palm of my hand. These are egg masses laid by predatory snails that live in the sand & contain hundreds of minute dots, each being a sand snail egg. The sausage jellies are produced by either the Conical Sand Snail Polinices conicus or the Sordid Sand Snail Polinices sordidus.
Found this on the beach at high tide.

Cool! Thanks Argy! Leubas photos are great. Love that you can see the tiny babies :) These things are just so cool.
Hey Leanne, Leuba spooted one and wrote some good stuff here... http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/836...
If you look closely you can see the eggs inside.
Wow! I never thought anyone had a clue on this one. Thanks Jeff, it's great to know what it is :)
