Description:

Two spherical gray to brown fruiting bodies surrounded by white and pale coral peridia which have split open to form the star-like shapes. Basidiocarps (spore cases) have a central pore surrounded by a circular, apical disc.

Habitat:

Found on (highly) decayed log in dense mixed hardwood forest

Love these - they look like mushroom flowers. Another mushroom on my bucket list that I've yet to find!
