Thnx Again.I rcd a link from Laura the ranger of a set of pics of burrowing owls spotted on the 4th of Jan.i will call her to find out location.Might help.

Hi Jemma, thanks for all the favorites, I really appreciate it.

I have never seen any burrowing owls at Bolsa Chica, though that does not mean they cannot be seen. I have never taken a guided tour here before, but they would probably best if you are looking to see specific species. Usually I come here on my own and spend only two hour sessions (though I have always wanted to stay much longer), but I always see a lot of biodiversity in those short time frames. Often times I see casual visitors walking noisily through who probably finish the trail in under an hour (there is a boardwalk across the water that provides great view of many birds, and the rest is an easy gravel path), but if you love birding, you could probably spend a full day exploring and watching the birds. Though the reserve is sandwiched between Pacific Coast Highway and an ugly view of oil wells, I highly recommend the place.

Hi Emily, i am planning a visit here shortly. i am from San Franscisco. How much time do you need to see Bolsa Chica. Also did you see any owls?i heard Burrowing and GHO were seen a week ago?Did you take a guided tour?
