Loepa martinii
My first Loepa martinii spotting. It is resting on the wall of Aristo inn. This large moth species is endemic to Borneo. Body length about 4cm. Yellow in color, wings have wavy lines and "fake eyes". Can be mistaken as Loepa sikkima and L. megacore (further research shows that this is not found in Borneo) as originally thought.
Upper montane forest of Kundasang, Sabah, Malaysia.
As soon as we reached Aristo inn, I immediately spotted his large moth. Well, who can't notice such a large moth on the wall? So far this is the first Loepa martinii spotting on Project Noah. >>>Map accuracy : 5m diameter.
