Coccinellidae
Black with two circlets of white dots around the abdomen.
Office garden. The plant on which it was (Dahlia, I think) had aphid infestation as can be seen in the first photo.
Is this an aphid predator? I do not know.
Thanks AshleyT...your words are like a balm...I felt like an idiot not recognizing it as a larva even when told it was...having trouble with macro-enabled stuff on PN...my computer denies me access citiung security certificate not trusted issues...but I will update.
I had no idea what they were the first time I saw one, thought it was some weird caterpillar missing some legs :)
Ah! AshleyT...and JordiPrats...tahnks, so much. To me the word larva sort of implies creepy crawly caterpillar kind :) ...I will update immediately. Thanks a ton.
JordiPrats...that black insect with three pairs of legs is a larva? It looks grown up to me :) ...or do you mean those green bugs on the stalk?
