The male Great Eggfly or Common Eggfly, Hypolimnas bolina philippensis Butler 1874 (Nymphalidae; Nymphalinae; Nymphaliini). H. b. philippensis is the occurring ssp. in the Philippines excluding Batanes, Bongao, Jolo, Sanga Sanga, Sibutu, and Tawitawi.
Spotted along the bank of a stream traversing the Binictican forest trail located in Subic Bay Freeport Zone, Hermosa Bataan.
