Tropical Swallowtail Moth

Lyssa zampa

Description:

One of the largest moth species in Borneo. This one is a male. The wingspan of Lyssa zampa can reach up to 16 cm. Easily distinguished from other moths from its size and colors. Can be easily mistaken as Lyssa menoetius.

Habitat:

Montane forests of Kundasang, species is found from Himalaya to Borneo.

Notes:

I am not so good in moths but I can remember the name of this species easily because of "Lyssa zampa" is not difficult to remember and spell. >>>Map accuracy : 5m diameter. Found nearby the moths of 2 of my previous spotting.

Telling these 2 species apart are not simple.
