Dotted Tussock Moth

Nygmia javana

Description:

A medium-sized moth from the Lymantriidae family resting on a leaf. Forewings have yellow and brown colors with 2 black spots on the side of each wings. Thorax is furry and brown in color. It's legs are also furry but yellow in color.

Habitat:

Highland forests of Kundasang, Sabah, Malaysia.

Notes:

Got a hard time determining it's species ID because there are 3 similar species here in Borneo - Nygmia javana, N. epirotica & N. javanoides. Found just below the moth in my previous spotting. >>>Map accuracy : 5m diameter.
