Circus macrourus
The Pallid Harrier is a migratory bird of prey of the harrier family. The female is brown above with white upper tail coverts, hence females and the similar juveniles are often called "ringtails". Her underparts are buff streaked with brown. It is best distinguished from the female Hen Harrier on structure. It is very similar to the female Montagu's Harrier, but has darker and more uniform secondaries from below. Pallid Harriers hunt small mammals, lizards and birds, surprising them as they drift low over fields and moors. (Wikipedia)

Thank you Emma, I was just wondering if someone will take it negatively. Thank you for telling me what you think and, I am enjoying my PN experience. It is really informative and it provides a lot of platforms to learn new things.
Namitha, i am positive that your comment was not negative!!
Please do not remove your comment. Please do not apologize either. I mentioned it because i was very touched by the episode. It had nothing to do with what you said. You are sweet . i hope you are enjoying your PN experience!
Yeah I think we are talking of the same person Emma but I did not mean it in that negative sense. I just meant that with Atul's photography skills he might reach great heights unlike Kevin Carter. I just cited that example just because this Pallid Harrier reminded me of that vulture I did not mean anything beyond that. Sorry, if you think its a confusing comment I will remove it, just tell me.
Namitha , I am not sure if we are talking about the same person, but the news reporter who was reporting a similar incidence committed suicide after observing for several days. Hard to take!!!!
NICE!!
Great photography. Somehow it reminds me of the vulture waiting for the boy to die by Kevin Carter http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kevin_Carte....
