Virginia Opossum

Description:

This is Sebastian, an ambassador possum at AWARE (Atlanta Wild Animal Rescue Effort). AWARE always aims to rehabilitate the animals we get so that they can return to the wild, but Sebastian was non-releasable; he would not have been able to survive on his own in the wild. He lives at the center and helps with educational programs, where he's a popular guest. Sebastian is comfortable with people and enjoys getting attention from volunteers. He's a lovable little critter! The Virginia Opossum is the only marsupial in North America.
