Description:

Striking bright red bird, spotted in south central Arizona, in a riparian area. The third photo above is the female, spotted in the same tree. Both were actively flying from the tree to catch flying insects.

Habitat:

Spotted in a riparian area about 20 miles north of the US/Mexican border.
