Description:

The dorsal aspect of its wings is reddish and very dark brown with several white spots on the front wings and blue center on the hind wings. In the ventra l has more complex designs in light brown, reddish-orange and a few blueish details. It is of medium size and if the caterpillar managed to feed well, it can reach 55 cms.

Habitat:

It inhabits from Venezuela to Brazil, moving even to Oceania. In Chile it is distributed from Arica to Cabo de Hornos and flies to 4,300 mts. Of altitude. He is also one of the few who managed to reach the Juan Fernandez Archipelago.
