Hi Robin, this beautiful mantis looks very similar to the Grass-like Mantid, Thesprotia graminis. It is found in Mexico. I am not sure if there are any similar species, but I would bet the Genus is correct, if nothing else. Here is a link to BugGuide.net for Thesprotia graminis. You can compare images and such.
