Chrysomelid Beetle

Paropsisterna fastidiosa

Description:

About 12 mm long this beautiful leaf beetle had green thorax and elytra. The elytra usually has a pink blush, as can be seen in pic 2. But, on the same plant, there were a couple of beetles like the one in Pic 1 with only a faint pink colour on the elytra. The antennae were black.

Habitat:

Spotted on a young eucalyptus tree in a nature reserve ( Wick's Reserve)

Notes:

I assume this is a variant of the same species as both pale and brightly coloured beetles were on the same plant.
