Yes, the old taxonomy was Helenium, then Dugaldia, and now is it is referred to as Hymenoxys. You can see the synonomy at http://plants.usda.gov/java/profile?symb...

Hard to tell without the leaves, but this looks like owl's-claws (Dugaldia hoopesii).
