Dodecatheon poeticum
This plant has basal clumps of leaves and drooping flowers that occur at the apex of tall stems that rise from where the leaves join.
Spotted at the Mima Mounds Natural Area Preserve. One of the few natural open prairie habitats in Washington state a transitional arid zone. This wildflower only exist in this environment in south central Washington and north central Oregon.
