White-Speckled Sea Hare

Aplysia dactylomela

Description:

Originally I thought these were two different species, but their primary body color is based upon the algae they eat, this helps them camouflage themselves from predators. This particular species has a white mottled body with large black rings. Like squid they can dispense ink when disturbed, the color of the ink depends upon their diet.
