Gecko

Description:

This little fellow was about 10 cm long (without his tail) and I am not sure if it is a lizard or a gecko. His feet look like those of a gecko. There were two individuals not too far from one another. Both had lost pieces of their tails. However, the tails appear to be long and banded. In pictures 2 and 3, there is a small crest of pleated skin on it's back. I thought it might be shedding, but on close inspection, it looks like a pleated crest.

Habitat:

On plants and bushes, at night in the forest, Reserva de la Biosfera Calakmul.

Thank you James. Is it a Gecko thing to have little dorsal crests?
