Honey Mushrooms

Armillaria sp.

Description:

These mushrooms had very fuzzy yellow to orange caps, cream colored stems, and cream-colored gills. The tallest mushroom was about 7cm.

Habitat:

Growing on the ground in a deciduous forest.

Notes:

Honey fungus is a "white rot" fungus, which is pathogenic to trees and shrubs. It can grow on living, decaying, and dead plant material.
