Description:

Forewing orange, purple band crossed by a broad white band, black & white spots, hindwing paler yellow. Antennae brown above, ochraceous red beneath; head, thorax and abdomen olivascent tawny; beneath, palpi, thorax and abdomen pale ochraceous. Wingspan: 80–98 mm.

Habitat:

Spotted during a raining morning walk at Kebun Raya Cibodas, a 80ha area above 1.400 metres high, mix of botanical park with big trees & palms and surrounded by rainforest at the foot of Gene volcano, Java - Indonesia. Can be also found at the Himalayas, China and Formosa, Sumatra, Java and southern Japan.
