Thin Walled Maze Polypore

Daedaleopsis confragosa

Description:

Thin cap with bumpy zones of white and tan colors. The pore surface tends to bruise red with this fungus, but this was an old specimen that didn't bruise. The pore surface had elongated, maze-like pores. The entire fruiting body was approximately 9cm wide.

Habitat:

Growing on rotting birch.
