Green Turtle

Description:

Found this young green turtle dead on the beach. The left side of the carapace had a massive amount of damage but no teeth or propeller marks that I could tell. Could have been a boat strike but none of the bones were cracked.

Poor thing. They do fall prey to great white sharks, but more likely it starved as a result of the decimated sea grass beds caused by last year's cyclones.
