Description:

Large, brilliant blue bird with a black head and spiky crest. The head has two light marks above the eyes. This bird was curious about people hiking on the trails but kept a good distance. Most likely it was looking for food.

Habitat:

High elevation in mixed evergreen forest including cedar, pine, oak and giant sequoia.
