Bat box

Description:

To prevent the bats from making nests at the chalets, the rangers at the Kruger National Park created these bat boxes and erected them near builings in the camp. The bats the lives in these boxes and thus stay close enough (but not in the buildings) to assist with mosquito control. This is a great example where humans and animals can stay in close proximity to each other & to the benefit of both species!

Great to see that the rangers are encouraging bats but we only allow photos of living organisms on Project Noah, so please replace this spotting with one of an animal, plant or fungus. Thanks!
