Congratulations Karan, your Dusky Turtle Dove is our Spotting of the Day:
"A few rufous-edged feathers match the eye of this elegant Dusky Turtle Dove (Streptopelia lugens), our Spotting of the Day! Doves and pigeons (family Columbidae) all share a common physiological feature: birds of both sexes produce "crop milk", a soft lumpy substance secreted by specialized cells that line the bird's crop and which they feed to their young. Flamingos and some penguins secrete an analog of crop milk from their esophagus".
