Migratory woodland caribou

There is an ecosystem that few have the opportunity to see: the tundra. Atop alpine summits (among the highest in the province), this austere habitat is characterized by dwarfed trees and an abundance of unique plants adapted to the harsh conditions. Here you will see the woodland caribou, whose presence in the Gaspésie has special significance.

This picture was taken in a park in Québec. These caribous are captive animals. The Bioparc... the Gaspésie's wild animal park.
