Pterois antennata
Also called Broadbarred Firefish and Ragged-fin Lionfish. As with other Pterois species, this lionfish is venomous -- its spiny fins contain a venom that can pack a mean sting. It feeds at night on crustaceans and other fish, and can grow to about 20cm long.
Found on reefs and in lagoons, all over the Indian Ocean and western Pacific.
Spotted this baby lionfish in about 3 or 4m of water at Dayang Beach. It measured less than 6cm long.

I've always thought that these were cool looking fish but I've never seen them in this light. Thanks for posting its true beauty! The fins!
I included this is the Red mission because they do turn red when they get older. ;)
